Where these numbers come from

BRFSS Prevalence Data (2011 to present), published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The underlying survey is the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), direct state estimates, for adults aged 18 and older, using the most recent year available for each measure. Retrieved 2026-08-25.

The city tab and this tab use two different datasets on purpose. City figures are model-based small-area estimates; state figures are direct survey estimates. They are not interchangeable and we do not mix them inside one ranking.
